Nicole Hamilton Circle K Teacher Award

   Nicole Hamilton received her Bachelors of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, with a split minor in Science Education, History from the University of Arizona, and also completed a graduate level course in Microbiology.
  
    She is known to teach in interactive and creative ways to engage students and eagerly researches cutting edge curriculum strategies to help students succeed.  Ms. Hamilton’s past experiences included many leadership roles such as working with other teachers from multiple high schools and middle schools in order to create a scope and sequence for science education within the district.  She has also been a part of developing the AP Environmental Science course for freshman this year at University High School.  

    Her participation in Co-Curricular and extracurricular activities have included: serving as a member of the finance committee within the School Council, BOOST Teacher, Science Club Trip Chaperone, Europe Trip Chaperone, Environmental Science Club Sponsor,  and Hiking Club Sponsor.  Nicole is a color guard coach in which she utilizes many of her teaching practices that are important in the classroom, such as thorough commitment to the basics, which has resulted in two state championships and multiple regional championships.  Nicole continues to have a tremendous impact on her students, parents, faculty and administration.  She believes in the relevance of opening doors of opportunity for students.  Her goal is to give students opportunities to connect the pieces of what is being taught and to know that learning and growing are an essential part of life.
